Logan Brookins Logan Brookins from Friend going back 43 years
When I met Rick and Sharon I was dating my wife Patty whose parents lived next door to Sharon and Rick. Rick was easy to get to know as he always took the time to listen to what I had to say. He and Sharon were loved by my Father and Mother in law and were the neighbors that everyone would love to have. As the years rolled by Rick and Sharon decided to move. We lost contact with them and more years flew by as time does. The next time we saw each other was at the Church that My wife and I started attending as Rick and Sharon’s Son and daughter in law attended the same Church. Rick and Sharon would come now and then and I knew that it wasn’t a regular thing with them. Rick in being who he was had reservations of belief for what he had experienced in life, but in the last weeks of his life that changed . There are no doubts in my mind that when he could no longer carry himself, God did take him home . I am very grateful for that and I know that his family is too………….
Jane Abbott Jane Abbott from Sister-in-law
I remember Rick, a good brother-in-law ,who loves knowledge, nature and life, who is wisdom and is very brave. From childhood to adulthood, his excellent grades, integrity and high moral character are the pride of teachers and the pride of our whole family. He was a peaceful person. Sometimes my English is not clear and I speak with an accent, but he did not show any impatience. He always listened carefully and smiled kindly. He was a trustworthy and wise man. When I don’t know how to treat a falling stock, when I don’t know which brand of car to buy, he always gave me a good suggestion. He was the bravest person. When he was diagnosed with fatal cancer, he showed calmness and courage, which I cannot express in words. I remember that every time I met and talked with him, he dressed with clean clothes and clean beard as usual. We talked about new things, and he talked to us with his calm and unique tone, telling us the information and knowledge that he knew. From the conversation, I felt his bravery in his calmness, bravery in the face of death. I almost forgot that he was a patient. His love for life, family and nature has deeply touched my heart. His kindness, wisdom and courage are my role models. I will always miss him, my dearest brother-in-law Rick Abbott

I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood at the Abbott’s house! It was always such a warm and welcoming environment. I was lucky to have Rick as my soccer coach and I remember all the wonderful stories he would share on our drives to various soccer tournaments. He always knew about the landmarks and state parks we would pass on our drive. I’ll miss you Rick. May you rest in peace. Love, Emma
